Freelance Opportunity

Brief:  

Art Reach is the lead partner for Liberty EU – an international collaborative project co-funded by the European Union’s Creative Europe fund involving 12 creative partners based across Europe. The project started in September 2019 and is set to complete in January 2023.  

Liberty EU’s budget is €2.6m. Each partner has managed their own individual element of the budget agreed at application stage. Partner budgets range from €66k to €200k. Art Reach’s budget is €1.18m.  

The specific outputs required for the final report are:  

1.       A narrative report on the project activities 

2.       A summary of statistics 

3.       A selection of externally shared evaluative, advocacy and communication materials that have been developed throughout the project 

4.       A full financial statement for the project 

5.       An Audit Certificate completed by an external qualified accountant 

Art Reach is looking for a freelance professional with experience of managing and reporting on large-scale grants to support the organisation’s team through its final reporting process. The person should be able to demonstrate experience of managing considerable multi-year grants (European Union funds is desirable experience) for organisations and be financially astute given the focus placed on the preparation of a detailed financial statement for the project and an external audit. They must be confident at liaising with partners on financial and reporting matters and be extremely well organised to manage a complex process, setting clear deadlines and have excellent attention to detail.  

The person appointed will report directly to the Art Reach Creative Director and work collaboratively with the Marketing and Communications Manager and Team Assistant to compile the report. The person will also be regularly liaising with delivery partner representatives across Europe to help them compile and check their reporting information in line with their responsibilities (as outlined in their signed partnership agreements) and prior to a formal external audit process. Much of the information required for the final report has already been submitted as there was an interim report prepared and accepted in May 2021.  

Art Reach aims to submit the report to Creative Europe mid-February 2023. We would like this role to start at the beginning of November at the latest. The fee available is circa £8000 (inclusive of all travel and subsistence and VAT if applicable). Art Reach estimates this contract would be up to 32 days of work spread across the four-month contract.
