Vivienne Westwood, the Queen of Punk, has passed away at the age of 81.

Born in 1941 in Tintwistle, the British designer has influenced fashion for the past 60 years. She passed away a few days ago surrounded by the affection of her loved ones in Clapham, South London. Vivienne, until the last moment, continued to do the things she loved by ideating, designing, working on her art, writing, and changing the world for the better.

Vivienne Westwood

The passing was made official by Andreas Kronthaler, husband and creative partner of the popular designer. The two had met in the late 1980s at the University of applied arts in Vienna, where Westwood taught fashion design. “I will continue to carry Vivienne in my heart,” reads the statement announcing her death. “We worked until the end, and she gave me plenty to do. Thank you honey. The world,” reads the statement announcing her death, “needs people like Vivienne to change for the better. She who had been the undisputed queen of the punk aesthetic, the latter times, considered herself a Taoist.”

A few months ago Westwood founded the “Vivienne Foundation,” a nonprofit corporation, with her children and grandson, will be officially launched next year to honor, protect and continue the legacy of Vivienne’s life, design and activism. The Foundation’s goal is to raise awareness and create tangible change by working with NGOs, based on four pillars: climate change, stop war, human rights advocacy and protest against capitalism. Values that have accompanied her throughout her life.

Born in 1990, he is a Catanian-born actor and dramatic author. He studied and graduated in 2013 from Fondamenta – The Actor’s School based in Rome.

He earned his acting degree by playing the title role of Rodion Raskolnikov in the stage adaptation of Crime and Punishment directed by Francesco Giuffrè.

The first time I set foot on a stage was in 1994, at the age of four. I have always loved the stage: characters come to life, magically illuminated by spotlights on their actors’ bodies. For this reason, at the age of 19 I left my beloved Catania, my loved ones, my mother and father and left for Rome to study acting. I graduated after three years with the play Crime and Punishment directed by Francesco Giuffrè where I played the role of Rodion Raskolnikov, the protagonist.

I left for a long tour that touched the Cyclades islands and the ancient theater in Epidaurus, Greece.

In 2018 I wrote my first play. The War of Paulinuzzu Millarti , published by Algra Editore and represented in many parts of Italy. The work was created from an interview conducted with Mr. Paolo Montalto and the memoirs collected by his son Francesco.

My last story, The Christmas Book won first place in the Hercules Patti National Award. The writing is based on an incident that happened to my paternal grandfather, Natale Puglisi, during the fighting in Yugoslavia in World War II.

Theater remains my greatest passion, but for the past few years, television and quality film have also become very interesting to me.”

Andrea Puglisi has faced training and working paths with prominent names in the theatrical scene including Eugenio Barba, Odin Teatret, Carlo Giuffrè, Giancarlo Sammartano, Giorgia Trasselli, Francesco Giuffrè, Renato Giuliani and Antonio Salines.

He specializes in dubbing with: Angelo Maggi and Massimo Corvo.

In recent years, he has been a leading participant in the performances of the Le Dionisiache festival at the ancient theater of Segesta.

She has been a teacher of stage movement and acting since 2013.

He has collaborated for years as a teacher with Fondamenta and the Ortzai Acting Academy in Vitoria-Gasteiz, Basque Country, and is the head of a European cultural exchange project between acting academies.

Since 2015 he has been specializing with Giancarlo Sammartano in using, theorizing, staging and teaching the mask of the New Greek Comedy and has been taking his workshop to Italy and Europe.

Plays in: Italy, France, Greece, Romania, Spain.

Starring in a variety of commercials such as Metro, ActionAid, Total Erg and IP, he has been the official voice of Salini Impregilo and other major brands on the national scene. In 2019 he won the Best Leading Actor Award and the Audience Award at the Romano InCorto festival for the play Cola.

His latest play The War of Paulinuzzu Millarti won the Tunis More South Award for dramaturgy, interpretation and direction.

Each of the awardees was presented with a Modigliani head, a handmade, limited-edition sculpture in Valencia porcelain and gold.

The sculptures are a tribute to Master Amedeo Modigliani on the 100th anniversary of his death, made by Fernando Altamirano, CEO and founder of By Verachi Studio, designer of the unique porcelain and platinum, porcelain and 24K gold bottles that contain a special reserve of natural red wine from Vigneron Raphael Pommier, owner of the organic Notre Dame de Cousignac estate, dating back to 1780. Altamirano has created some of the world’s most exclusive bottles of wine, cognac, tequila, mezcal and water since 1996.

In late November, the Amedeo Modigliani Foundation will publish the call for entries for the 2nd edition of the Prize.

Italia Vogna, an eclectic artist of Neapolitan origin, whose talents range from painting to music, a performer of great sensitivity, decidedly adept at launching an exclusive musical project “ As cores da minha alma ” (The colors of my soul).

The original idea, which has never been realized by others, stems precisely from the dual “soul” of the artist, Neapolitan by father and Brazilian by mother.

The project she sings in Portuguese and the arrangements in a Bossa key encapsulate the magic of Neapolitan and Brazilian culture, a true fusion that gives rise to an absolutely unique project.

Italy has collaborated with various artists in the past, in 1991 he sang at an international guitar festival in Naples, where the world’s greatest guitarists were present: Irio De Paola, Jorge Morel, Paço Pena, Gianni Palazzo, Toquinho e Paulinho Nogueira the guitar master of Toquinho.

He later duetted in two concerts as a guest – with the unmistakable voice back of Mario Biondi while recently she performed at the Auditorium with the great Lino Patruno, a true jazz legend.

Italy Vogna: the voice that enchants

We have the pleasure of meeting her for the editorial staff of Fashion Life.

Italy recently sang with the special band of Lino Patruno, a true jazz guru, how did this collaboration come about?

“Yes it was a great experience, definitely to be repeated. The meeting with Lino was almost by chance, He has always been fond of Bossa Nova music, after listening to my record he asked me to sing with his band in a concert at the Auditorium.”

There are various theater shows where you have participated with sometimes ironic performances, which one do you remember most fondly?

“I definitely remember with enthusiasm the theatrical performance with Veronica Mazza , a succession of jokes, where comedy triumphs and more, a tribute to all women and their ability to remain in “balance” in the current times.

Later I also had the pleasure of working in the theater with Lucio Caizzi in “ and if then I was Brad Pitt “, again in a different key irony emerges in a monologue where the focus is the conversation between two boyfriends.

I thank Veronica and Lucio with immense affection for making me fall in love with theater.”

Is there an artist you would like to work with in the future?

“A dream would be to sing with Chico Buarque . He is a true icon, the beauty of his music has no boundaries, representing Brazilian popular music in the round. A synergy of sweet melodies and poetry. I hope to meet him soon.”

Your passions include painting, would you like to tell us about that?

Painting travels parallel to music, which has always been my source of inspiration. I like to paint dancers and musicians.

I had an exhibition in Capri, and in recent years I participated in Venice and Spoleto in various group exhibitions with Salvo Nugnes curated by Vittorio Sgarbi .

I have had several awards and am featured in a cosmopolitan Mondadori catalog.

A dream in the drawer?

“Bringing my music to San Remo, since we are talking about innovation, it would be an achievement to bring good Bossa-Nova to the Ariston stage.”

French fashion designer Thierry Mugler passed away of natural causes at the age of 73 on Sunday.

Eccentric and quirky the designer creator of iconic fashion lines was famous for his super sexy corsets worn by stars such as Madonna, Sharon Stone and Lady Gaga.

The first clothing line, he called it Café de Paris in homage to the city that became his home, 1973, while he launched his actual brand in 1975.

Already we can glimpse what would become its leading “themes”: the overt inspiration from U.S. cinema and culture, the “wasp-like” waist that echoes that of classic pin-ups. The use of a futuristic plastic-like fabric in his sculpted clothes has become his trademark. The designer for decades has defined haute couture, dressing stars such as Diana Ross, Cardi B, Beyonce and more at galas, on red carpets and runways around the world. His most iconic creations appear in the Too Funky music video by British singer-songwriter George Michael.

The Creations

His designs were not afraid to be extravagant, sometimes resembling robotic suits with protruding conical shapes. His creations had a strong impact on the imagery of high fashion: with no fear of coming across as strange or shocking, his creations were inspired by technology, nature, and motors. Iconic were his robotic suits that originated from the famous film Metropolis.

His products

Mugler also had a famous perfume line, which he started in the 1990s.

In addition to clothes, Mugler has also been a filmmaker and photographer, and has been a dancer, acrobat, and avid bodybuilder, emphasizing that he has always wanted to explore the human body as art. One of Mugler’s best-known phrases: “When I was a child, I could not accept the world around me. I dreamed of creating one of my own size, one all to myself“.

Simply brilliant.
