As Executive Director, it is my role to deputise for the Creative Director and lead on core Art Reach functions such as operations and finance that enable us to deliver our festivals and events. I also take an active role in supporting our consultancy clients alongside Jo.
I have nearly 20 years experience of working in the not-for-profit and statutory sectors – the last 15 years have been in the arts sector. Previously I have worked as a consultant advising charities and not-for-profits on ways to improve their effectiveness, measure their impact, and develop new income streams. Also, I have directed the communications and fundraising departments for arts and heritage charities, and was a programme manager for a major grants programme investing £2m per year in grassroots arts organisations.
I enjoy working with numbers and data and looking for the stories that they can tell about the work of an organisation – which is helpful given the number of spreadsheets I have to look at every day!
