Artistic Response Team

The Artistic Response Team of Red Wing is a coalition of 5 community arts organizations: the Anderson Center at Tower View, ArtReach, Red Wing Arts, Sheldon Theatre, and Universal Music Center.

The Artistic Response Team of Red Wing is dedicated to serving the community and support local artists during the pandemic and has been busy publishing several programs and activities using a video streaming platform that enables people to connect with arts entertainment and education, and at the same time maintain safe social distancing. Here’s what’s available now:

Selling Your Artwork Online
Lindsey Cherek, Red Wing painter and studio artist at the Anderson Center, chats with Director Stephanie Rogers about what everyone one needs to know about selling artwork on social media! Lindsey offered lots of helpful insights into using platforms like Instagram and Facebook to open up new revenue streams for artists.

ARTspeak Live
Andy Sturdevant, Artist Services Director at Springboard for the Arts, talks with Red Wing Arts Executive Director Emily Guida Foos about several ways that artists in our region can adapt to new economic and cultural challenges. This talk also includes live ASL interpretation by professionals from Middle English.

“Our Red Wing” Wing
Anna Ostendorf introduces a new collaborative art project Artreach is facilitating. The “Our Red Wing” wings allow residents to show community pride in a creative and visible way. The project aims to remind others that we are together in spirit while we are separated physically. Download the template here!

Virtual Drum Circle
Professional drummer and Universal Music Center Executive Director Mike Arturi will led a virtual drum circle. Need an instrument? Mike offers several options using household items in the video! Anna from ArtReach also published a video here with ideas for making your own shaker at home (featuring a guest appearance by her dog).
